Netlify

Netlify is a static website host. It takes in all the themes, content and formatting of the website from YAML generated content.

My old website is hosted at https://ryanstarr.co.uk and the files that Netlify are stored in my Github repository. This allows me to just update the GitHub repository files and have the website update instantly.

I had intended to use it as my main blog.

It is built using Hugo, but I wasn’t happy/couldn’t get the layouts how I wanted. As a result it became abandoned. I found it tedious to update. As a result this website has now taken over it’s job for the most part (it’s much easier to update from anywhere).

I will most likely strip it down to a single page with just my skills and achievements in the future. This will mean that I don’t have to worry about the functionality as much.
