Dell R710 (ESXI)

If I need to dedicate more compute to a project then I spin up my Dell R710 blade server. Whilst it draws about 230w it allows for up to 32GB of RAM and 24 threads to be dedicated to Virtual Machines.

Dell R710

My current VM’s:

  • Windows Server 2019 – LDAP configured.
  • pfSense – For if I want to try out potentially network interfering services on a separate subnet.
  • Ubuntu Server 21.10- Used for Docker container testing.
  • VMWare vCentre Server – For if I want to delve deeper into the system.
  • Ubuntu Server 20.04 – 3X copies for doing Kubernetes clustering.
