Southampton

Starting off with my first official stop in Southampton.

I had considered attending university here in the past but decided on Plymouth instead.

Journey:

Train: 2h20m

Walk: 15 mins

History:

There first major piece of history is the city defences.

My favourite though was the old railway architecture. I spent ages trying to work out how things used to work (A casino is currently using a station roof as covered parking).

Accommodation:

I chose the easy option (Travelodge) for my first two days whilst I settled into booking each night.

Price: £110 for 2 nights

Food and drink:

Due to bad planning I had to buy food along my train journey. This cost £4.95 for a pasty (couldn’t see any sandwiches).

I grabbed a drink on getting into Southampton. £1.10

My evening meal was a Pot Noodle (£0.80) due to only having access to a kettle.
