Portsmouth

Now we are in full journey mode.

Southampton was great but Portsmouth seems to have more of a modern and lively atmosphere. It’s also a lot larger in the city center. I didn’t have enough time to see it all.

There are lots of places to shop and very modern looking high streets. Yet they are surrounded by the maritime locations (historic and current).

When walking around on foot it can be easy to become lost. There were multiple times when I was down by the coast and had to change my plans due to super long walls getting in the way.

Journey:

Train: 47m (return £6.60) × 2

Accommodation: Still in Southampton Travelodge (£110 for 2 nights)

Food and drink:

Robinson squash (negligible)

Porridge: £0.80

Pasty £0.90

Go Ahead rasin bar £0.20

Couscous £0.70

Hot Cross Bun x2 £0.05

After returning to Southampton to sleep, I will be heading back to Portsmouth to explore a bit more by the harbour (images below). I will then be visiting the Isle of Wight by hovercraft.
