Birmingham

The new “BT tower”

Today I finally got to explore Birmingham properly. I always thought of Birmingham being very run down for some reason. But it is a very modern city with lots of great historical architecture.

I started off by visiting the Jewellery Quarter, It had more housing and a few businesses but nothing interesting apart from the wall advertisement for a train museum?

Next I headed towards town and came across my first canal. I decided to sit and watch a canal boat go through the locks and then followed the canal to the restaurant district by the canal.

I debated on having Wagamama as I enjoyed it when I was in London. In the end I decided to move on to the centre of town to get a salad from Tesco’s. I then sat in Victoria Square to have lunch.

I then spent the rest of the afternoon walking down all the streets with shops ( I still think I missed some).

I then headed back to my hostel, picking up a Pizza along the way to cook in the hostel oven.
