Whilst my parents are on holiday for a week I’m looking after the plants and catching up on some IT projects.
After looking at Unreal Engine 5 for so long I gave in and bought my first graphics card (RTX 2060 for £305). This allows me to run Unreal without having to worry about fps or technology limitations. When I was running on integrated graphics I was getting about 6 fps (15 fps maximum). Now I am locked at 120 fps. Once I get into ray traced lighting and nanite geometry I will need the VRAM and Raytracing cores.
I also intend to utilise the AI cores on the GPU to learn some basic AI open source software.
Check back in a few months for a potential entire category dedicated to Game Design or basic AI.
