I decided to spend a few nights in York as the hostel was very cheap per night.

Tech topic

It allowed me to do some Docker and Kubernetes management on my homelab. I’m not sure what changed, but my Pi responsible for reverse proxy traffic went offline again. Not sure if it’s an overload error. In the past a reimage and ethernet fixed the problem. But when I went back home and removed the ethernet it was fine on WiFi for weeks (until this failure).

Thoughts on York

I spent most of my time walking around the historic city walls that surrounded York. They were nearly all intact. It’s a great way to get to see the area from a vantage view.

The city centre is also feels very traditional. There aren’t many places that cars can go and the buildings just have a nice mix of new and old.
